Trading Safety
Inspect items, use public meeting places, and keep transaction communication on A Trade For You.
Do not share passwords or verification codes. Confirm completion only after receiving what was agreed. Use Report Listing or File a Dispute when something is wrong.
Plan a safer pickup
- Agree on a busy, well-lit public meeting place and a time during opening hours. Bring someone you trust when possible.
- Inspect and test the item before confirming completion. Leave if the item or the agreed terms do not match.
- Use home pickup only when the transaction provides a private address field for the intended recipient. Otherwise choose a public meeting place; do not post home addresses in chat.
For three-person exchanges
All three people should review the same items, delivery plan and any extra money. If a participant cannot complete their part, pause the exchange and resolve it together before confirming completion.
Keep agreements and changes in the transaction conversation so everyone can review them.
If a participant does not show up
- Agree on the delivery plan and order of handoffs with all three participants before handing over an item.
- If anyone goes silent, cancels or misses the handoff, pause further handoffs and tell both other participants in the group conversation.
- Keep the agreed terms and any changes in that conversation. Use Report or the Resolution Center when something is wrong.
- Do not confirm completion for an item you have not received and inspected.
The site does not hold items. Real payments are disabled; no money is collected or released. Reporting an issue does not guarantee recovery or completion.
Arrange pickup logistics in the transaction conversation without posting home addresses. Two-party private address fields are available after acceptance. Three-way private addresses are shared only with the member shipping your item, after all three agree. For three-way meetups, choose a public meeting place.
